Things to look forward to in 2021

Conor Fletcher

After 2020's events season fell in to delay after delay it soon became clear that some of St Ives' most celebrated seasonal events unfortunately had to take an unexpected hiatus. This has meant that we missed out on the annual September Festival, the Food and Drink Festival and so many more of the unique events that dot the calendar. As things begin to open up and public gatherings begin to take centre stage there's no better place to be. With the calendar hopefully set for 2021 here's some of the things that we're looking forward to this year and some of the best events to enjoy whilst staying in our luxury self catering cottages in St Ives...

St Ives Food and Drink Festival - September 17 - 19

The annual festival usually takes place around May however this year has been delayed into September to allow for the events to take place on the beach at Porthminster. With chef demonstrations, pop-up tents celebrating word foods and some of the most celebrated Cornish producers on show this is a must-see attraction late in the year. Enjoy relaxing on the beach with friends and family and take in some of the best tasting food this county has to offer.

St Ives September Festival - September 11 - 25

The St Ives September Festival is nothing more than a celebration of the arts. Intrinsically linked to St Ives this cultural heritage is at the foundation of the town. With music, poetry and art all on display throughout the two week festival there's a little something for everyone and no matter where you make your way through the town you're sure to end up in and amongst some of the festivities. This year the St Ives September Festival coincides with the Food and Drink Festival, leaving it the perfect fortnight of activity.

Tunes in the Dunes - September 2 - 4

On Perranporth beach the Tunes in the Dunes are a weekend of music in the September sun, with acts including Craig David, Tom Walker and Richard Ashcroft the event this year will be a great way to kickstart the festival season in Cornwall and being just a short drive from our luxury self catering cottages, the best way to spend your time on the South West Coast.

This is just a handful of the events we have penciled in on our calendars this year, but as we begin to resume normality so many more unique and interesting events are sure to pop up and once the summer has passed us by there's no better way to kick start the quieter season in St Ives with these distinct celebrations. If you've not booked a stay in St Ives then why not get in touch with the team and find out when you can be enjoying the best that the South West has to offer in our luxury self catering cottages in Cornwall?
