You can enjoy your stay in our luxury apartments in St Ives without the worry of the impact it will have on Cornwall’s rich and illustrious environment. So much of what makes Cornwall such an wonderful place to visit is the bright blue skies and lush green surroundings and as a team we want to keep it this way by taking whatever steps necessary to put a cap on our CO₂ usage and keep Cornwall as green as it can be. Here’s just some of the ways we try to combine green travel with luxury apartments in St Ives and some of the ways you can reduce your carbon footprint as you escape to St Ives.

Local producers, local community

Upon arrival at the Sail Lofts luxury apartments in St Ives you will begin your luxury self catering holiday in St Ives with a plethora of locally sourced products from Cornish cheeses to freshly baked bread direct from local businesses. Community thrives when each facet works together and you will find this throughout your Sail Lofts experience.

Last year we introduced the Sail Lofts tote bag, a useful way of limiting unnecessary plastics which impact our environment in catastrophic ways not often noticed on a micro level. It is speculated that only 1% of plastic bags are actually being recycled, the potential impact of the remaining 99% that do not find reuse is not only a staggering statistic. Crucially, this is one of the largest easily controllable impacts on our planet. Therefore limiting their usage in any way possible can only help us keep our oceans crystal blue and our countryside free from pollution.

Utilising local businesses throughout your luxury self-catering holiday in St Ives is one of the easiest ways to keep our carbon footprint at a minimum. Throughout St Ives the local community aims to source products from within the county, as close to the town as possible. Shops, delicatessens, restaurants and boutique shops all help embrace Cornwall and it’s exports. What’s more, the surrounding countryside is full of unique and specialised agricultural producers who turn their products into wonderful options for a night of cooking in your self catering apartment. The St Ives Market, which takes place weekly exhibits some of the incredible products the local community has to offer. It only takes a step out the door to find out what’s there.

Travel

St Ives is without question a popular destination for those visiting Cornwall. Thoroughfares throughout the town are often met with the constant buzz of a town so many of us enjoy, but visiting St Ives doesn’t mean you’re limited to travelling by car. Cornwall is a truly special experience to witness when taking the train, and with travel becoming one of the main contributing factors to our environment changing, the best way to counteract this is by taking the steps to limit our ongoing impact. Travelling by train to St Ives is a truly wonderful experience, not only that – it’s easy. With direct routes into Cornwall the constant worry of transfers is quite literally out the window.
