St Ives Surf School

Based on Porthmeor beach just a stone's throw from the Sail Lofts luxury cottages, St Ives Surf School is highly regarded as one of the best places to learn to surf in Cornwall. Not only do they run fantastic surf lessons but also provide stand up paddle boarding, coasteering and sea kayaking activities from beautiful beach locations in the heart of St Ives. St Ives Surf School provides an unforgettable ocean experience in a fun, friendly and safe environment. All equipment will be provided and if you get a taste for it, you can hire wetsuits, boards etc and go it alone, safe in the knowledge you're under the watchful eyes of the RNLI lifeguards. Barnoon Workshops

Located just a few minutes' walk from the Sail Lofts luxury cottages, Barnoon is a dedicated art space welcoming people of all abilities to workshops held both on the premises and out and about. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, overlooking Porthmeor Beach and within minutes of the Coastal Path, it's perfectly placed to get those creative juices flowing! The Wizard of Oz - Kidz R Us

When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West to earn his help.

Kidz R Us is an award-winning youth theatre company, dedicated to getting young people involved in the performing arts, to support their development and the wider community, catch them putting on a show on the 28th, 29th and 30th May this Whitsun. Kidz R Us is located just up from the cinema in Royal Square, at just a short walk away from the Sail Lofts luxury cottages, it's a perfect activity for the whole family.

Flambards - Helston

Just a short drive from St Ives, Flambards well and truly offers 'the best day of the week' perfect for families and groups alike you can enjoy the variety of rides across the park. With a Victorian village that has you quite literally walk into the past you can experience what life was like and gaze through shop windows of the past. Experience what life was also like during the Blitz with their exhibit of England during WW2. Flambards offers a perfect day out come rain or shine and has something to be enjoyed by all the family.

Getting to Flambards from your luxury cottage in St Ives is straight forward, you can enter TR13 0QA into your Sat Nav or follow signs for Helston. Flambards is next to Sainsbury's on the A394.

St Ives Boat Rides

St Ives by sea offers a new view of the area and can be a great way to explore the coast whilst surrounded by fresh sea air and miles of open sparkling water. Whether you're game for catching your own fish supper or leaning more towards a relaxing cruise around Seal Island, a plethora of possibilities await your perusal. Opt for a high speed, adrenaline fuelled Rib ride around the bay or hire a self-drive motor boat and take the whole familly for a spin - you can take the dog along with you on the self-drive and life jackets will be provided for all (yes, even the pooch). A trip to Seal Island will take you out of the harbour and round past Porthgwidden to Porthmeor and beyond, you're in with a chance of seeing dolphins, sun fish and even basking sharks as well as seals. The Little Mermaid is covered with a canopy and even has a toilet on board for a worry free trip. St Ives Boat Rides operate from the harbour which is just minutes from the Sail Lofts luxury cottages.
