St Ives Food and Drink Festival

The Food and Drink Festival marks itself as the highlight of May in St Ives as local chefs, producers and businesses congregate on Porthminster Beach for the 3 day event. With live demonstrations, food to taste and sun to soak up there's nothing more enjoyable than spending the weekend on the beach, with an evening filled with music you can be sure to experience some of the best that Cornwall has to offer. St Ives Annual May Day

Truly the kick start to spring, St Ives' Annual May Day festivities are the perfect way to ease into the warmer weather and picturesque afternoons on Porthmeor Beach. Taking place throughout the town on the 6th of May, St Ives May Day is a blend of local traditions and festivities. With a procession through the town, a harbour front BBQ and much more it's a day not to be missed.

Helston Flora Day

Similar in theme to St Ives' May Day, Helston's Flora Day marks the end of winter and the start of springtime. Throughout the day processions take place throughout the streets of the town. With greenery throughout Helston and celebrations across the day Flora Day is a must when in St Ives this May. With busses leaving from the Malakoff bus station at 09.45, 11.45 and 13.45 you can be sure to be taking part in the day of festivities.

Open Studios

The annual artist's showcase returns for another year as artists across the county open their doors to the public for viewings at the end of the month. Make use of reserved parking at the Sail Lofts and enjoy traversing the coastline discovering the wonders that lie within some of the counties rural villages. From St Ives you can make your way down towards Zennor and onto Pendeen before heading over to Penzance and working your way full circle back to St Ives. St Ives Literary Festival

From the 11th to the 17th of May the literary festival returns to St Ives, enjoy readings in Norway Square in the spring sunshine or listen to some of the music that takes place throughout the event. One of the highlights you can't miss out on is 'The Big Frug' where musicians, artists and storytellers gather together for a celebration of art!
