Porthleven Food Festival

Charlotte Ballam

Approaching its 11th year, Porthleven Food Festival has become a staple on the festival circuit with around 40,000 people flocking to last year's event. Revellers will find Porthleven Harbour absolutely stuffed to the gills with all varieties of food and drink imaginable, chefs from far and wide will be giving demonsrations and they'll be plenty of entertainment to see everyone through too. Porthleven is just over half an hour's drive from the Sail Lofts five star accommodation, so if you find yourself in St Ives or indeed Cornwall - stopping by the festival is a must.

Music - Shipyard Sessions

"By night our Shipyard Sessions bring bands from Cornwall and beyond on all three evenings of the festival. We kick off with a bang with our big Friday Night Opening party by bring Mad Dog Mcrea to Porthleven with support from The Roustabouts. Saturday Night is our Festival Theme party which this year is all about the Sound of Motown. Sunday evening is locals’ night with blazing talent from Porthleven taking to the stage."

Please note entry to the festival is free during the day, however you will need a ticket for the Shipyard Sessions during the evening.

The Chefs' Theatre

Porthleven Food Festival has always attracted the best talent, from here in the South West further afield. And this year's festival will boast a full, two day line up of demontsrations from chefs of the highest calibre on the Shipyard Stage. If you'll be making a beeline for the Chefs' Theatre then why not go for a VIP Gourmet Ticket for priority seats and access to all Shipyard Sessions?

Workshops

A first for the event, this year will see a plethora of masterclasses and workshops taking place across the festival. Tarquins will be on hand to teach you how to mix the perfect G&T, while Dead Man's Fingers and Curio will be putting their best foot forward with Cocktail Masterclasses. St Austell Brewery are bringing the beer for tasting and you can even try your hand at crafting your own flower crown. Free craft workshops and circus skills will also be taking place on the Moors Field. Booking is advised so as not to be dissapointed.

Local food and drink, tastings, circus acts, live music, a literary and accoustic tent... for a raucously good Cornish time it's got to be the Porthleven Food Festival - check out the website for full details of everything that's going on! We thoroughly reccomend leaving the car behind as Porthleven is closed to traffic during this event and parking can be very tricky. If you're staying at Sail Lofts in our five star accommodation, drop into the office and we'll be happy to reccommend alternate means of transport.
