Jubilee weekend events in Cornwall

The Jubilee bank holiday is fast approaching and this makes the perfect opportunity to plan your little weekend getaway ahead of the summer holiday. With many events taking place around St Ives and surrounding areas, take the time to explore Cornwall and discover how each town is celebrating the Queen's 70 years of service to people.

St Ives 

On Sunday 5th June, all businesses, residents and visitors are invited to share food in a big street tea party to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee. Wharf Road will be closed from 8.30 till 11 pm and everyone is welcome to bring their takeaway from businesses around or their own picnic to the party.

To finish the day on a special note, fireworks will be taking place on the Harbour from 10pm.

Carbis Bay

On Saturday 4th June, from 2pm to 6pm, Carbis Bay Memorial hall is organising an afternoon packed with fun activities from face painting to bouncy castles. Pack your lunch and bring your picnic to take part in this joyful celebration.

Lelant

Dobbies garden centre in Lelant is organising a Jubilee Afternoon Tea including a selection of sandwiches, savoury treats and traditional scone. Available from Friday 3rd June until Sunday 5th.

Lelant Village Hall is organising a Jubilee Fayre at at The Watermill on Friday 3rd June from midday with many activities for the whole family. From Live music to tombolas and even pony rides, there will be plenty of fun to satisfy everyone's taste.

Penzance

Held on Sunday 5th June on the Princess May Recreation Ground in Penzance, this big lunch is supported by Whole Again Communities, Treneere Team Spirit and The St Aubyn Fondation and reuniting all residents of the area to connect, have fun and celebrate.

Truro

Truro will celebrate the Jubilee in style with a parade starting from the city centre at 1pm. At 2pm, Truro's town crier will be giving his proclamation on Boscawen Street and many children's fairground rides will be available at different locations in town. There will be a Farmer's market on Saturday on Lemon Quay from 9am until 4pm with a street party theme.

Falmouth

Princess Pavillion is having a tea party hosted by The Mayor on Friday 3rd June from 2.30pm where all attendees will be enjoying a cream tea followed by some live music playing traditional 40's music.

On Saturday, Falmouth will be having a Street party starting at 1pm in Market Street. This event is free for all to attend and tickets can be booked HERE.
