Farewell 2021!

Hélène Chaussavoine

As 2021 draws to a close, this is a good occasion to look back on the highlights of the year and all the positive notes to remember before jumping into 2022. Even with a slightly difficult start of the year, we've all slowly learnt to welcome the new changes and appreciate what was next to come.

Cornwall had quite a special year with the release of the movie Fisherman's Friend showing a group of Cornish friends who believed they can achieve a top ten hit. Highlighting the beauty of Cornwall, this movie has brought a lot of attention to the county and the reasons why it is so special to live here.

The G7 - Carbis Bay

The main event of the year was obviously the G7 taking place in Carbis Bay, where world leaders from around the world gathered for their annual meeting. With Cornwall under the spotlight, many people travelled to the St Ives Area, Carbis Bay Beach or even Falmouth which welcomed the worlds media.

Summer 2021 - St Ives

As all the leaders were going back to their respective countries, the summer started and Cornwall welcomed a lot of people who could finally take some time off to enjoy a well deserved break. From breakfast on Porthgwidden to dinner with a beautiful sunset on Porthmeor, there really is no better place to enjoy the longer days by the sea.

The tour of Britain - Penzance

September did not miss out on the excitement with The Tour of Britain taking place in Cornwall with the starting line in Penzance. The crowd was celebrating the race where many international athletes competed.

And with a lot of uncertainty still in the air, Christmas is now happening along with some amazing light shows in Angarrack, Mousehole or the famous arrival of Santa with the RNLI in St Ives Harbour. Now is the time to cheer for a new exciting year ahead and celebrate with family and friends that some of us may have not seen for a while.

Thank you !
