Easter could arguably be one of the most charming of our holiday seasons. What’s not to love – a free pass to eat as much chocolate as you want; lighter days and sunnier weather, lots of craft workshops and events on to entertain and help us get creative; and the reopening of attractions to welcome us all back.

Here at Sail Lofts, we welcome our eager Easter travellers with open arms and have a whole host of ideas for you to get stuck into. Whether you are venturing out with your little ones, or just having an adventure for the two of you, there’s something for everyone this Easter.

I Should Co-Co Kitchen

Let’s kick off with chocolate – I Should Co-Co Kitchen, is exactly what its name suggests, you should get some co-co fun into your stay. I Should Co-Co Kitchen are chocolatiers set in the heart of St Ives. They have various fun chocolate making workshops for all ages to enjoy. you can then take your very own chocolatey delights home with you to indulge in later, or maybe a unique gift idea for someone back home to give them a literal taste of your trip.

Making the most of our central location and easy access to the main harbour of St Ives, you can wonder down to I Should Co-Co Kitchen to partake in one of their three different workshops available; Workshop for all, Adult Workshop or Dip into Chocolate. Prices range from £30. Booking is advised in advance.

The Minack Theatre:

St Ives has pretty much everything, but Cornwall has so much to offer it’s hard to not venture out and explore. If you’re after a show with an extra special backdrop setting, then you can’t go wrong with a visit to one of Cornwall’s most loved attractions; the Minack Theatre.

Set on the edge of the cliff, the land was bought for £100 by Rowena Cade and opened to the public as an outdoor amphitheatre in 1930. Since then, it has hosted great classics such as Shakespeare’s Tempest and Midsummer Night’s Dream, amongst others.

This Easter, the Minack is hosting two great shows for a range of audiences. In the afternoon you could catch the Giants show, about Cormoran, the terrible giant of St Michaels Mount. This is a perfect show for the little ones with performances starting at 3:30pm.

In the evening, there’s something for the adults and couples to enjoy. The Massive Tragedy of Madame Bovary starts at 7pm. Fear not, if you really fancy checking out this production but have little ones with you, then here at Sail Lofts you can make use of our childcare service. You can enjoy your evening with full confidence that your little ones are also having a great time and being well looked after.

Tickets for these shows start from £10 for adults and half price for under 16s with a range of seating options.

Falmouth Maritime Museum

Enjoy more adventures outside of St Ives by taking a trip over to Cornwall’s lush historic harbour port of Falmouth. An energetic town full of shops and restaurants to investigate. Falmouth is also home to the National Maritime Museum, which will be hosting its latest exhibition; Pirates. An interactive and jam-packed exhibition all about Pirates and the seas that they dominated in the days gone by.

Tickets for the National Maritime Museum cost £15.50 for adults and £7.75 for under 18s with under-fives going free. Your entrance ticket to the museum also comes with a complimentary annual pass, so you can go back for free up to 12 months and rediscover more of this awesome museum.
