Hélène Chaussavoine

As the temperatures drop and the days have shortened, winter has definitely arrived. It is time to enjoy walks on the beach with your four legged friend, a hot drink in a cosy dog-friendly cafe or even a Sunday lunch in a local pub to make the most of your dog-friendly holiday in St Ives.

Beach walks

Start your day in St Ives with a morning walk on Porthmeor Beach, only a few steps away from your dog-friendly accommodation in St Ives. There is no better way to feel energised in the morning than soaking up the early rays of sunshine mixed with a gentle winter breeze. If you are a coffee person, make sure to stop at Porthmeor Cafe for a cup of warm brew. When the tide is all the way out, a wonderful walk to enjoy with your pooch is from Porthmeor Beach through to Porthgwidden beach and across Bamaluz Beach and on to the Harbour. You may even be able to go all the way to Porthminster Cafe and decide to enjoy your early cup of coffee over there.

Cosy lunch in St Ives

There are plenty of wonderful dog-friendly restaurants to enjoy your lunch in St Ives. If you enjoy some local fresh food, the Digey Food Room is a lovely cafe near Fore Street and open all year around. If you are on your way back to your St Ives dog-friendly cottage, the restaurant The Hub on the harbour has just been refurbished and is a nice place to stop with your pooch for a tasty lunch.
