Porthleven Food Festival

17-19 April 2020 | Porthleven

Having recently taken home Gold for best festival at this year’s Cornwall Tourism Awards,  Porthleven Food Festival promises a feast for the senses. With a plethora of Cornish producers selling everything from gin and locally made tonic, to sausage rolls and brownies, it's a fantastic place to sample all kinds of local produce and take home some of your favourites. As well as shopping for goods to take home, you'll find no end of food stalls selling delicious food from around the world as well as multiple bars for beer, cider, coffee and cocktails. The festival is centered around Porthleven's picturesque Harbour and is around half an hour from your holiday cottage in St Ives and although there is parking, it can get very busy and it's definitely worth considering the bus.

St Ives Food Festival

15-17 May 2020 | Porthminster Beach | St Ives

Porthminster beach is every inch the perfect backdrop for a festival, with tents and bunting galore adorning the usually sweeping sand. You can expect cooking demonstrations from chefs hailing from near and far, delicious local food, drink stalls, live music and plenty of family friendly activities from circus activities to face painting and bouncy castles. We can’t make any promises but the sun always seems to shine on this weekend and a great time is truly had by all. At just a 10 minute walk from your holiday cottage in St Ives, you’re perfectly placed to dip in and out of the frivolities as you please. Far from being solely a local event, many travel to St Ives for the Food Festival and it’s definitely worth securing your accommodation if you’re planning to join in the fun!

Newlyn Fish Festival

Highly anticipated following its fallow year in 2019, the biggest, best celebration of fish, fishing and seafood is set to return in 2020. Expect music, merriment and of course tons of fish as the community and revellers from all over the country gather to celebrate Cornwall’s fishing industry. Held on August Bank Holiday Monday each year, the Festival is organised in aid of The Fishermen’s Mission which provides care, compassion and support to working, retired and disabled fishermen and their families. With Newlyn just a half an hour’s drive away from your luxury cottage in St Ives, this traditional and iconic Cornish celebration is so worth a visit.

Falmouth Oyster Festival

October 2020 | Events Square | Falmouth

This annual festival marks the start of the oyster dredging season and celebrates the native Fal Oyster and the diversity of Cornish seafood with four days of music and feasting! Much like the food festivals, the Oyster Festival features a myriad of cookery demonstrations food stalls, Cornish food produce and arts and crafts; along with real ale, champagne and wine bars, oyster and seafood bars. The Grand Oyster Parade, shucking competition and the Grand Oyster Draw are not to be missed - dates for 2020 TBC.

St Ives September Festival

For some 30 nows St Ives has hosted the September Festival: an annual celebration of music, literature and the arts.
