Water Activities to do in Cornwall this Summer

As the summer holidays are rapidly approaching and the weather is improving, it is the perfect time to explore the options on what you can do on you family holiday. Water sports are a fun activity for all the family to enjoy in Cornwall. Although St Ives offers some water activities, there are many other places in Cornwall to enjoy doing them and have a fantastic day out.

Stithians Lake

Stithians Lake  located just outside of Redruth, offer a wide range of water activities for all members of the family to enjoy. These activities range from paddle boarding and kayaking to sailing and fishing. They offer lessons lead by instructors for beginners but also the opportunity to hire the equipment to enjoy. These activities take place in a large inland open water lake surrounding by a 5-mile radius of Cornish meadow and wildlife. So, if not all of the family fancy getting involved with the water activities there are plenty of walks which are dog friendly.

Loe Beach Water Sports Cornwall

Loe Beach is a beautiful beach between Truro and Falmouth. The water sports centre offers kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, sailing and powerboating lessons for all the family to enjoy. They have designated kids activities and lessons including multiactivity sessions for them to engage in. There is also the option to hire kayaks and paddleboards for the day where you can explore the Cornish coast as you like. A perfect family day out.

Ocean High Marazion

Ocean High is based in Marazion opposite St Michael’s Mount, around a 20-minute drive away from St Ives. Ocean High offers Stand Up Paddle boarding, kayaking and kite surfing lessons, along a beautiful part of the west Cornish coast. They offer private lessons and group lessons so you can choose which you would prefer. They also have their ‘Ocean Tribe’ experience which is a fun and engaging way for kids to learn how to paddleboard but also to understand the importance and protection of our oceans.
