Apparently Christmas doesn’t start until Burdett Wine's annual tasting... Back at the Guildhall once again, there will be over 100 wines for you to taste from all around the world. There will also be lots of other locally produced drinks to sample. Tickets will be available at the door £15 per person.
18.00 | 7 December | St Ives
The annual Lantern Parade sees schools, community groups and individuals come together after dark for a procession of colourful lanterns. This year's parade will begin outside the Guildhall to the sound of The Town Band and will make its way along St Andrew's Street to the Wharf, Fore Street, Market Place, High Street and back to the Guildhall. Why not stop off for a warming drink on the Wharf on the way back to your holiday cottage in St Ives? Both the Hub and the Searoom make for a great pitstop with views of the harbour lights.
14.00 & 18.30 | 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30 December | St Ives Theatre
Join Kidz R Us for a magical retelling of Sleeping Beauty this Christmas. Nurse Hettie Harpic (who is “clean round the bend”), Muddles, the idiotic Palace handyman and two hapless heralds, Fetch and carrie, ensure the laughs come thick and fast as Rose slowly grows up. But Witch Hazel finds a way to trick our friends into letting their guard down just before the evil curse expires... Sleeping Beauty runs twice a day throughout the festive season, take part in the adventure and join the panto fun. St Ives Theatre is located just a little further up than the cinema in Royal Square and is no more than a 10 minute walk from your holiday cottage in St Ives.
Boxing Day Swim
If you're feeling brave the Boxing Day swimmers are inviting you to join them this year on Porthminster Beach for fun and frolics. By joining and donating £1 you will be helping to raise some funds for a local charity at the same time. If you don’t fancy taking the plunge then why not go and cheer on the swimmers - there’ll be hot chocolate and bacon butties from the beach café to keep you warm while you watch!
