Fortunately, wet weather has never stopped anyone from enjoying their time in Cornwall. So if you happen to be enjoying the best of our luxury holiday cottages and want to make the most of your time in Cornwall then don't let a bit of drizzle stop you from having a good time outside.

Wet weather days out in St Ives

Part of the enjoyment of staying in St Ives coastal cottages in winter is that you never know what's going to happen in terms of the weather so it's best to prepare for everything as you can easily end up experiencing all of the elements in a single day. Out and about in town, there's a lot for you to enjoy from the quiet corner cafes to the more expansive restaurants that overlook the ocean. One of our favorite places to spend the morning in St Ives is the Porthminster Kitchen where you can sit and enjoy the view from the comfort of the restaurant rain or shine.

Out and about

Walks around Cornwall can be found in almost every direction but once the wellies are on and the raincoat fully zipped up then the more treacherous coastal walks might not be the best of your options. A more straightforward meander across the beach is perfect for enjoying St Ives with dogs and with the dog-friendly pub the Castle Inn on Fore Street you can warm up after a mid-morning adventure on the beaches of St Ives.
