March and April in St Ives…

Conor Fletcher

There's nothing more unique than spring in St Ives, bright sunny days meet crisp morning air once the winter has passed us by. There's nothing more enjoyable than beginning each of your days with a stroll along Fore Street, stopping by St Ives Bakery for a freshly baked loaf before heading back to your luxury self catering cottage and starting the day in the most care-free, relaxing way possible. Of course, if you're an early-bird then why not enjoy breakfast out in the town? With so many restaurants open for a morning bite to eat there's little reason not to head out and make the most of what Cornwall has to offer you.

Surfing has for the most part become synonymous with modern St Ives. Porthmeor Beach, mere steps from our luxury self catering cottages offers lessons for beginners, advanced learners or even those who feel they don't need lessons as the team at the surf school are there to impart their experience and critique and advise whatever your ability. Lessons can be booked in advance and it's well worth doing so not to miss out on this fantastic opportunity and with the beaches being a little quieter there's never a better time to get in the ocean.

Cornwall's Dramatic Coastal Path

With springtime on the horizon it only means one thing; blissful days where the sun lies high in the sky and you are free to get out and explore the wonders of the coast. Fortunately St Ives is located on the route of Cornwall's South West Coastal Path, a long, winding pathway along the coast that rises and falls and allows for the most inspiring of views along the way. With the town acting as your hub you can head north or south and find out why the journey is taken by so many visiting the county, you might even come across a beach or two perfect for a rest stop along the way.

Back in town you can enjoy some of the best restaurants in the local area, with Porthminster Beach Cafe the highlight amongst them all-you can stroll across the Harbour front and make your way around to Porthminster Beach where you can enjoy the wonderful seafood cuisine with one of the best views in town.

If you're not staying with us to start the spring then why not take a look at our self catering cottages in the heart of St Ives and find out what's available? With one to three bedroomed properties you can enjoy St Ives the way you want to and make the most of this picturesque coastal town in the heart of Cornwall.
