Couples Retreats this Autumn

Tash Murch

As autumn kicks in the buzz of summer fades with children back at school and the streets of St Ives become calmer, making autumn a perfect time for couples to get away and enjoy the tranquility of St Ives.

Whether you are looking for a few days away to enjoy the great outdoors, dine on good food in some of St Ives' award-winning restaurants or just escape from the busyness of day-to-day life, a St Ives getaway will give you the chance to relax and have some quality time together.

Romantic Evenings

A nice dinner for two with a view is the perfect way to spend an evening, especially when followed by a stroll along the beach watching the sunset.

With Porthmeor beach on your doorstep, you are moments from the perfect relaxed evening. Book in for dinner at Porthmeor Cafe which offers delicious food coupled with an amazing view. We highly recommend one of their outdoor private heated booths, whilst sharing some tapas for a truly memorable evening.

If outdoor dining seems a but adventurous for this time of year, there are plenty of indoor settings where you can enjoy dinner with a view. A few of our favourites include Porthminster Kitchen, Porthgwidden Beach Cafe and Porthminster Cafe. During the quieter season window tables are easier to come by but we still strongly recommend booking, especially on the weekends.

Days out as a couple

If you are looking for things to do together you can immerse yourself in everything St Ives has to offer or spend the day exploring the Cornish coast.

Although it's turned colder, spending the day at the beach or heading out for some surf can be thrilling. With a selection of beaches all within a 10-minute walk of your luxury apartment, you are spoilt for choice. With the waves rolling in and the fresh autumn air, there's nothing like heading into the sea for a swim or surf and wrapping up warm with a hot chocolate on the beach afterwards.

If it's not a beach day, why not spend the afternoon admiring artwork at The Tate and Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Gardens? As a guest of Sail Lofts you can get free tickets to both, just pop into the office and one of the team will be able to book your tickets for you.

Located along such a stunning stretch of coastline, leaving St Ives for a costal walk to admire amazing scenery and views of the bay and further afield is a must. For an afternoon stroll, heading around to Carbis Bay is perfect. At about a 40 minute walk along the South West Coast Path to the beautiful sands of Carbis Bay beach, where you can enjoy coffee and cake at their cafe on the beach.

Alternatively, if you are keen for a more scenic route, walking past Porthmeor and around the headland to Clodgy Point or further along the Zennor route of the Southwest Coast Path is well worth the walk. Take along a hamper box from Scoff Troff, or treat yourself to a pasty from Pengenna Pasties for the perfect day out.

There is currently last minute availability in our 1-bedroom apartments this October and November, meaning there's still time to treat yourselves to a couples getaway.

Make sure to check out our 1 bedroom apartments; Driftwood, Lighthouse and Surf's availability.
