Where can I take my dog in St Ives?

It goes without saying that the beaches are there for an early morning run-around or an evening stroll before you head to your St Ives cottage but in almost every direction you have a wealth of opportunity awaiting you. Walk across the harbour front and make your way toward Carbis Bay for a leisurely walk that lets you take in the breadth of St Ives Bay. Once you're there you can continue your journey all the way along the South West Coastal Path to Porthkidney Sands, a perfect little spot to take a break before winding your way back to St Ives.

An alternative walk around St Ives would be to head outward toward Hellesveor and work your way towards an offshoot of the South West Coastal Path, hereon you can work your way back around the coast toward Clodgy Point and then back to the welcoming sight of Porthmeor. Walking shoes are best advised throughout the autumn as the route may get a little muddy!

If you're up for a drive then why not trip across the coast to Penzance where you can park up and weave your way through the town to Newlyn and on to Mousehole, a quaint little fishing village that draws so many people looking for a wonderful day out in the countryside. The Ship Inn is dog friendly so make sure you stop by for a drink and a bite to eat overlooking Mounts Bay and St Michael's Mount.
