Slipway is our largest and most luxurious self-catering apartment. The private balcony has incredible sea views overlooking Porthmeor Beach and the spacious top floor gabled roofed sitting room provides the perfect area to entertain the whole family. Its location right in the heart of St Ives, close to one of the most popular beaches in Cornwall, makes it the most sought-after apartment in the Sail Lofts.
Occupying the entire second floor of the property, Slipway’s sitting room is bright and spacious with a gabled roof and Velux skylights that let the famous St Ives light fill the room. With a private balcony that over looks Porthmeor Beach, it is furnished with a large corner sofa and paintings by local artists.
Slipway has three en-suite bedrooms, two of which offer king-sized beds and the other can be configured as a super king or a twin-bedded room.
The master king-size bedroom on the first floor and the super king/twin bedded room on the ground floor both have sea views towards Porthmeor, and the third bedroom overlooks our tranquil sub-tropical courtyard.
The open-plan ‘L’ shaped kitchen-diner on the first floor is fully equipped with all the comforts of home including a dishwasher, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine. Slipway also benefits from a separate utility room on the ground floor with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Slipway has three en suite bathrooms, all of which are finished in contemporary black slate and granite. Two of the en suite bathrooms have a shower over the bath and the third offers a step-in style shower cubicle. The master en suite bathroom has the added luxury of an over-bath TV.
Our family just returned to the USA following a simply wonderful short break in St Ives, staying at the fantastic Sail Lofts. We stayed in Slipway that had its own entrance and invaluable convenient parking. The apartment was beautiful and wonderfully appointed with our family of 5 able to fully relax and enjoy our time in Cornwall. We completely loved the Slipway apartment and would highly recommend to any family..as a person that appreciates the details I can honestly say that there was nothing that disappointed..a perfect place to stay for the family! loved it!
Slipway is a gem with superb living space on 3 generous floors and each of the 3 well sized bedrooms with with their own bathroom. The kitchen and dining room is a great place to start the day with the family and nice snug retreat in the evening, whilst the top floor loft style space and large balcony is superb for staring out to sea, taking in the great views across Porthmere, and relaxing with friends and family. Its also great to wake up in the master and front ground floor bedroom to the view of Porthmere and to nod off to sleep with the faint sound of waves in the distance. I would also highly recommend using the Cornish Food Markets pre-order service for fresh local produce and some delicious local wine and cheese.
Nothing seemed too much for the team that welcomed us, who did everything to make sure the visit was just right.
I can't speak highly enough about our stay at The Sail Lofts. We booked into the "Slipway" apartment (it's actually more of a townhouse in fact); myself, my wife, 2-year-old son, and parents-in-law. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted, and checked in to the accommodation within minutes. We'd asked for stair gates, and a child’s highchair, and everything was ready and set up for when we walked in. The property is very spacious, modern, and clean, but the living room on the top floor was really quite special - bright, and with folding doors that open completely on to the balcony, giving you the view of the beach (which is a 20 second walk from front door to sand).
Our private car park is a short 8-minute stroll from the Sail Lofts complex, which you can access 24 hours a day and come and go as you please. You will be given a bay allocation on arrival, which is yours to use for the duration of your holiday.
