Newlyn School of Painting

Newlyn School of Art is based in the famous artists’ colony of Newlyn in West Cornwall and provides inspiring art courses in painting, drawing, sculpture, pottery and printmaking taught by many of the best known artists working in Cornwall today. Many of the art school’s courses are set in the dramatic coastal surroundings.

The art school has many well known artist tutors teaching there including Rose Hilton, Neil Pinkett, Jason Walker, Naomi Frears, Jack Doherty, Paul Lewin, Jesse Leroy Smith, Tim Shaw, Paul Wadsworth, Lisa Wright, Sam Bassett, Jessica Cooper, Gareth Edwards, Maggie O’Brien, Rachael Kantaris, Mary Crockett, Kate Walters, Mark Spray, David Paton, Mark Surridge, Marie Claire Hamon, Claire Armitage, Caroline Pedler, Jacqui Knight, Alex Higlett and Georgina Hounsome.

The art school is housed in a beautiful Victorian school building in the Artists’ Quarter of Newlyn and there is ample free parking for patrons of the art school.

The Sail Lofts are a great base whilst taking a course at Newlyn School of Art, with the inspiring surroundings and light of St Ives right on your door step, taking a painting course in West Cornwall is a great way to improve your artistic skills in an area renowned for its art.
