Just 5 miles along the coast from the luxurious Sail Lofts explore the beautiful village of Lelant, the birthplace of famous British author Rosamund Pilcher. Lelant is linked with St Ives by a stunning footpath that weaves its way along the coast passing Carbis Bay and Hawkes Point before finally arriving in Lelant around an hour later.
The Sail Lofts is also conveniently located to enjoy many of the landmarks described so eloquently in some of Pilcher’s best works. St Michaels’ Mount, which features in ‘The Shell Seekers’ and ‘Coming Home’, is a short 20 minute drive away and Penzance, which features in the films ‘The Empty House’ and ‘Reflections’ is only 5 minutes further on from The Mount.
If you are visiting to immerse yourself in the scenery that forms the backdrop to many of Rosamunde Pilcher’s novels, no trip would be complete without a visit to Lands Ends and Lamorna Cove, both of which are easily accessible from The Sail Lofts.
The scenery that Pilcher visualises so magically on the page is easily explored on your own. However, if you would prefer a bespoke tour that is built on your individual requirements we recommend you contact Cornwall DMC on 01726 71520 who can create a unique tour tailored to your budget.
