Things to do this February Half Term

Conor Fletcher

As we approach February Half Term there is so much to look forward to and keep the family busy in St Ives and all over Cornwall to leave your stay in our luxury apartments in St Ives as complete as can be; from days out fine tuning or developing the inner artist in you or crafting charming chocolate creations. Days out with the family are best when everyone can get stuck in and involved and there’s no better place to kick-start your luxury holiday in St Ives than from the doorsteps of the Sail Lofts luxury apartments in St Ives.

So where to start? Well what better place than the big building facing the seafront located only moments from our luxury apartments in St Ives – the Tate. Throughout the middle of February (10th – 18th) they are hosting ‘Tate Create’ where you and the rest of your family can go about creating something to cherish long after your St Ives stay. This workshop is designed for everyone to get stuck in and create magnificent collages or simply chill out in the relaxation area.

A little further in to St Ives and you enter into the chocolatier’s haven of the Coco Kitchen, a little past Fore Street toward Tregenna Place nestled on the left hand side. Operating workshops throughout the holidays the Coco Kitchen is the perfect place to go should the weather take a turn for the worse or you’re all in need of satisfying those sweet teeth. Being only moments away from the Sail Lofts luxury apartments in St Ives means you can take advantage of these as and when you may need during your February Half Term stay, but if you’re looking to stretch out along the Cornish coast or fancy a spot of driving and sight seeing then why not venture out for a perfect day out in Cornwall.

Across the coast leads you toward the Minack outdoor theatre, crafted into the cliff side stone resides this archaic amphitheatre. On the 12th of February they’re hosting Smuggler’s Tales, an event for all the family where you can learn about Cornwall’s heritage in a unique and interesting way. The drive to the Minack is as simple as taking the A30 to Penzance and continuing your way before turning off onto the B3283 and finally following the signposts to the theatre.

In the other direction towards Redruth you have Jump4 – the first trampoline park in the South West. Jump4 has areas suited to all the family, from sessions for the Little Jumpers to free style for the adults among us! Jump4 is a fantastic way to get everyone active during your stay in our luxury apartments in St Ives and it’s no more than a short drive from the town.

Of course after constructing collages, crafting chocolate, watching outdoor theatre and tiring yourselves out on the trampolines what everyone looks forward to is a relaxing place to sit down and bite to eat. Trevaskis Farm is just a short 20-minute drive from the Sail Lofts luxury apartments in St Ives and is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a grandiose slice of cake. With Cornish produce and locally supplied meats Trevaskis is perfect to take in the countryside.
