Dog friendly days out in Cornwall

We love Cornwall, and the best way to get and enjoy this natural wonderland is by foot, and, should you have a four-legged companion there is no better way to spend your time getting out and enjoying the area what ever the weather may bring. This is the second part of our tips for dog friendly adventures throughout Cornwall, so if you haven't yet seen the first one, why not have a look?

Trencrom - Lelant

Driving in to St Ives, towards your dog friendly accommodation you will have spotted this rocky outcrop that looms over the land, between St Ives and Penzance. Gently sloping in one direction, and then with a drop on the other side. Trencrom is a lesser-visited spot by most as it hides in plain sight.

From its granite outcrop on its summit you are given the awe-inspiring views over St Ives Bay and Penzance. Stretching out from Marizion to Godrevy, giving an almost aerial view of all that lies below.

Being positioned just outside of St Ives, with a little car park this is a must visit for anyone that would like to see this beautiful part of Cornwall from the skies, without ever leaving the ground.

Long Rock Beach - Penzance

With views of St Michaels Mount, this sheltered beach is the ideal location for spending a day out in a dog friendly location not far from St Ives, giving you a different perspective of the county. Sit back and see the yachts, fisherman, and paddle boarders sail by on this ocean of calm. If you fancy a stroll the beach leads round in to Penzance, all on a nice level gradient, so perfect for all ages.

Tanglewood – Penzance

Should the sun be beating down during your dog friendly holiday worry not, Tanglewood Gardens is a wonderfully tranquil, dog friendly haven, ensconced in wildlife.

Begin with a walk through the woodland and then to the garden and ponds, which have lots of baby frogs in the springtime! In the pond areas look out for Kingfisher, Heron, Mallards, Canadian Geese, Moorhens and Coots. Also plenty of water life insects and amphibians – you may spot Dragonflies, Damselflies, Frogs, Toads, Newts and Lizards, amongst others. Keen photographers will find no shortage of subjects.
