Q: How close to the beach is Sail Lofts?A: Very close – it is only about 20 metres across the road and down the slipway to Porthmeor Beach. The other beaches in St. Ives are within easy walking distance. Q: Does my holiday property have any additional sleeping capacity?A: The ‘bed capacity’ of each apartment is as stated in this website. Some apartments (eg. Slipway) have a sofa bed which you are welcome to use, but please note that you will need to bring your own bed linen (ie. sheets, duvet cover, pillow cases) and towels. We do not allow additional guests, eg. sleeping on the floor. Q: Do we need to bring our own bed linen?A: No, apart from any sofa bed requirements (see above) we provide all bed linen. This will be clean and freshly laundered when you arrive. If you are staying for more than a week, we will provide a change of bed linen after the first week. If you want additional bed linen laundered while you are staying at the property, we can normally arrange this for an additional charge, but we need to know in advance. Q: Do you provide towels?A: Yes, each guest will be provided with one set of towels (one bath towel and one hand towel). If you need additional towels, we can provide these on request for a small additional charge.^ Back to top Q: What about beach towels?A: We provide each apartment with separate beach towels, but ask that you launder them after use and put them back into the basket at the front door before you leave. We charge £1 per beach towel if they have been used and not laundered. Please do not use the white bathroom and shower room towels on the beach. Q: Do I need to bring soap and toilet rolls?A: We provide toilet rolls and small complimentary soap bars for all bathrooms/shower rooms , but you will probably wish to bring your own supply of bath/shower soap and shampoo. Q. Are there laundry facilities?A. All our properties are fitted with a washer/dryer. Q: What facilities are there in the kitchen:A: There is an electric hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. We provide all the usual cutlery, plates, glasses, pans, tea towels etc. Q: Is there a television?A: Yes, there is a flat screen TV as standard in all apartments. Some properties have additional wall mounted TV’s in the master bedrooms and bathrooms. They all receive the current digital Freeview channels. Each property also has an MP3 speaker system that is compatible with all modern MP3 units. Q: Is there a telephone?A: No, but there is good mobile reception for most networks and there are public pay telephones located at various points in St. Ives. Q: Is there internet access?A: Yes we provide free Wi Fi connection via our wireless router – please ask for more details via our General manager. Q: Is my property centrally heated?A: Yes, there is gas central heating and hot water in all properties. Details of how to use the heating and hot water system are contained in the information file which you will find at the property on your arrival. Unless it is cold weather, the heating will normally be switched off when you arrive. Q: How many sets of keys are there and how will I receive them?A: You will be provided with two sets of keys. We use a Master Lock key safe system at the Sail Lofts. Each apartment has its own key safe located either at the Main Entrance in Porthmeor Road (Driftwood, Beach, Bay, Ocean and Surf) or outside individual apartment’s (Slipway, Island, Godrevy, Lighhouse, Curno, Harbour and Zennor). A key will be put in your apartment key safe prior to your arrival. 7 – 10 days before you arrive we will send you an email with the key safe code and details of where it’s located. Simply put in the 4-digit code and the key will be waiting for you. We will also leave a second set of keys on the kitchen table. Q: When can we arrive on the first day of our holiday?A: The apartment will be ready any time after 4.00 p.m. on the day of your arrival. Q: When must we leave the property on the last day of our holiday?A: Please ensure you vacate the property by 10.00 a.m. at the latest. Q: If we arrive late, will we be able to shop for food?A: Yes. On your way into St. Ives, Tesco at Carbis Bay is normally open until 8pm. every day except Sunday. In the town, the Co-Op supermarket is generally open until around 10pm. The local store (Norway Stores) is often open until 9pm. in the Summer. Q: Is there a cot or high chair at the property?A: We have a range of travel cots, stair gates and high chairs . Please let us know when you book what you require, so we can put them in place before you arrive. Please note: we do not provide bedding or bed linen for the travel cots. Q: Is there car parking at the property?A: No, you cannot park your car in the street outside the apartments, but there are a number of public car parks in St Ives. The nearest is at the top of Island Road, approximately 50 metres away, where you can purchase a weekly ticket, although it does not guarantee you a space. We are also able to arrange private parking on the edge of St. Ives, with an inclusive Taxi collection/pick up at the beginning and end of your stay. Alternatively, we have a limited number of private parking bays on Beach Road, approximately 10 minutes walk from the Sail Lofts, that can be pre booked. Please call us for further details. Tel +44(0)1736 799175 Q: What about unloading and loading the car?A: It is best to park in the Island Car park and unload from there if possible. Q: Are there instructions and details at the apartment if we have questions after we arrive?A: Yes, there is a comprehensive Information File at the property which you will find on the kitchen table. This should answer any questions you may have. It also contains details of emergency phone numbers. Q: Do I need a car to get around in St. Ives?A: No. Sail Lofts is ideally located within easy walking distance of all the shops, cafes, restaurants and art galleries in St Ives. It is also close to the beaches. If you want to explore further afield in Cornwall, a car is useful, although not essential, as there are good train, bus and coach services to many destinations. Q: Are you able to smoke in any of the properties?A: No, all of our properties are non-smoking. Q: Do you allow pets in the properties?A: No, unfortunately we are unable to accept pets in any of our properties. Q: What else do you provide?A: We have tried to provide everything you will need for your stay at The Sail Lofts. The apartment kitchens are fully equipped, and all have electric hobs and ovens, washer/dryers, microwaves, hair dryers, ironing boards and irons. We also provide a Welcome Pack, which includes bread, butter, milk, cleaning products, a local newspaper, tea/coffee and flowers. Food can also be pre ordered through Tesco’s Home Delivery Service and we have also put together a range of sumptuous hampers from The Cornish Deli. As we all live in and around St Ives we are happy to help with ideas of places to eat out and/or visit, so please ask us if there is anything you are uncertain about, or if you feel there is something extra we could provide. All suggestions will be very welcome. |
